D-DAY LANDINGS ANNIVERSARY
2019 was the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and for the Normandy Veterans Association it marks the end of a long and glorious history, Due to the ages of the veterans, many in their mid- nineties and now getting frail it has been decided to disband the association. This year Medicar European were honored to be able to volunteer medical assistance to the Association on the Normandy beaches. A team of three paramedics and three ambulance technicians along with two ambulances were on hand throughout the three days to assist with any medical needs, working alongside the French ambulance service, the British army and French hospital doctors Medicar European was proud to be part of their pilgrimage and part of living history.
SPONSORED CYCLE RIDE MEDICAL SUPPORT
On March 3rd 1973 18 members of the Bury St Edmunds rugby team were killed when the flight from Paris they were flying on crashed at Ermenonville just north of Paris, they were returning from France following the Rugby international. This year the Bury Rugby club completed a sponsored cycle ride from the monument at the site of the crash to Bury Rugby club, a fantastic achievement for the almost 100 riders. Medicar European were again honored to be the medical back-up for the entire journey. We salute their efforts.
